International Student Information
Thinking about coming to BSC from outside the United States? Great!
We want you to feel at home on the Hilltop. Several offices on campus work directly with international students, and there's an International Student Services Coordinator trained to help answer your questions.
Why BSC?
At Birmingham-Southern College, we know you stand out from the crowd, and we believe our students learn best by doing. That's why you'll get special attention here: from professors who will be mentors, from programs designed to offer you research and internship opportunities rarely available to undergraduates, and to staff who will make sure you're comfortable here on the Hilltop. And you'll do it all on a historic residential campus with ties all over the world.
Learn more and see our campus by taking our virtual tour.
In addition to many organizations and resources on campus, the Office of Multicultural Affairs works to make international students feel at home at BSC and assists with the immigration process, orientation, and support throughout your time on the Hilltop. Specific programs include:
  • Advice regarding immigration compliance and visa status maintenance
  • An introduction to the BSC community and assistance regarding cultural adjustment to the U.S. through our International Student Orientation and regular one-on-one advising sessions.
  • Advocacy on BSC’s campus
  • Opportunities to make connections with faculty, students, and community members both on and off campus.
Additionally, the Office of Multicultural Affairs hosts cultural events and sponsors clubs for students interested in foreign languages, international film, and various regions of the world, including Asia and the Middle East. They also offer free airport pick up for international students, campus tours, and other assistance. Questions about financial aid? Contact Caroline McLean, International Student Services Coordinator, at [email protected].
