SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Bishop State Community College offers a variety of scholarships. Selection of scholarship recipients is highly competitive. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee a scholarship. The appropriate scholarship committee reviews all completed scholarship applications.  Students must be an Alabama resident and a U.S. Citizen to qualify for any scholarships except for private scholarships.
2017-2018 GRADUATING HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS
Deadline: March 1, 2018


Presidential Scholarship
Presidential Scholars are awarded to students from high schools in Mobile and Washington Counties. These scholarships pay tuition and fees during the fall and spring semesters only. Full-time study is required.
Requirements:
  • Pays $10,000 ($5,000 a year for 2 years).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.5.
  • Minimum ACT composite score of 24
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for maintaining scholarship eligibility.

  • General Education and Health Related Programs 
Academic Excellence Scholarship
Academic Excellence Scholars are awarded to graduating high school students based on their academic achievements. These scholarships pay tuition and fees during the fall and spring semesters only. Full-time study is required.
Requirements:
  • Pays $8,000 ($4,000 a year for 2 years).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25.
  • Must have taken the ACT
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for maintaining scholarship eligibility.

Technical Career Scholarship


Technical Career Scholars are awarded to high school students who will pursue a degree or certificate in any of the Technical School Divisions on the Carver or Southwest Campuses. The Technical scholarships will cover certificates program up to 1-year. These scholarships pay tuition and fees during the fall and spring semesters only.
Requirements:
  • Pays $8,000. ($4,000 a year for 2 years). Certificates ($4,000 only for 1-year certificate programs).
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for maintaining scholarship eligibility.

Air conditioning & Refrigeration Technology, Automotive Body Repair Technology, Automotive Technology, Barbering & Hairstyling Technologies, Computer Information System, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Diesel Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, Electrical Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Graphic Communications Technology, Health Information Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Process & Maintenance Technology, Welding Technology
